Strengthening of the institution of family is among the thrust of the Municipality of E. B. Magalona under the administration of Mayor Marvin Malacon. This is a major message of Mayor Malacon during the observance of the Civil Registration Month with the theme “Inclusive and Responsive CRVS: Working Smarter Through Innovation”.

48 couples exchanged vows during the mass wedding ceremony sponsored by the Municipal Government and officiated by Mayor Marvin M. Malacon on Friday held at Wilkinson Gym.

The rite is witnessed by the Municipal and Barangay officials, family and friends of the couples. Mayor Malacon said that the family is the basic unit of our society. He emphasizes his vision that every family in the town be built with strong moral and legal foundation. Government should assist couples in instituting a family that is productive and contributing to the society. A happy family makes a happy community. A productive family makes a productive community. That is why for my part, I strongly support this kind of program to strengthen the foundations of family.

Recently couples planted 500 mangrove seedlings in the coastal area of the town as part of the pre-nuptial activities. This is in support of the LGU's effort to fight climate change in pursuit of the national development agenda on environment and of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Aside from free video and photo souvenirs, the newly wedded couples bring homes gift packs and souvenir items from the Municipal Government. Door prizes for the early bird couple, best in gown and raffle prizes added the ceremony color and fun, Mercedes P. Recla civil registrar officer said.
