20 women from E. B. Magalona train on bread production

Ten members of Canlusong Women’s Association and 10 members of Tomongtong Women’s Association, both from E. B. Magalona, have finished a three-day Bread Production Training held on February 14 to 16 in Bacolod City, to enhance their skills for their bakery business.

The training was sponsored by the Hospitality Management Society of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management of STI West Negros University (STI WNU).

The completion ceremony was held on Feb. 16 at STI WNU.

The Municipal Government of E. B. Magalona, thru the Office of Mayor Marvin Malacon, provided the ingredients used in the bread production, and also shouldered the food and transportation allowance of the participants. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided a P300,000 seed capital for the bakery businesses of the

Canlusong Women’s Association, under its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) – Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) program.

The 20 members of Tomongtong Women’s Association, meanwhile, received P10,000 each, or a total of P200,000, from DSWD under the SLP regular program.

Witnessing the completion ceremony for the 20 women-trainees were Municipal Social Welfare Officer Emy Lyn Hibionada and MENRO-designate Jojo Vargas.*
