Athletes from E. B. Magalona, who won in the recent Cluster 3 Athletic Meet (formerly called Area 3 Athletic Meet), are representing the cluster in the ongoing Division Meet of the schools under the Division of Negros Occidental at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan Bacolod City from February 21 to 24.

The E. B. Magalona athletes are competing in:
*Lawn Tennis (Boys)
*Chess (Girls)
*Billiards (Boys)
*Wrestling (Girls)

Selection Athletes:
*Athletics (Boys and Girls) - Elementary and Secondary
*Taekwondo (Boys)
*PARA Games

It can be recalled that the Cluster 3 Athletic Meet, held last Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, was hosted by the Municipality of E. B. Magalona.

Attending the opening ceremony of the Division Meet last Wednesday [Feb. 21] were Vice Mayor Eric Matulac, who represented Mayor Marvin Malacon; Sangguniang Bayan Member Reylan Gamboa Sr., and Municipal Planning and Development Office head Engr. Erwin Poniado.

The E. B. Magalona Team is led by Supervisor Angeles Verdeprado, head of Cluster 1; and Supervisor Laila Fronda, head of Cluster 2.

Accompanying the athletes are coaches, assistant coaches, trainors, chaperones, and school heads.

The Local School Board (LSB), chaired by Mayor Marvin Malacon, has allocated from the Special Education Fund the budget for the uniform, food, and transportation allowance of athletes, coaches, assistant coaches, trainors, and chaperones. The LSB also provided their training and competition allowances, together with technical officials and other Meet officials.

This year's theme is, "Batang Negrosanon, Kampeon para sa Matatag na Nasyon."
