The emerging public health threat of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) lead the Office of the President to issue Proclamation No. 922 which declared a State of Public Health emergency throughout the Philippines.

In response to this public health threat and in compliance with the Proclamation No. 922, I, Mayor Marvin Malacon of the Municipality of E.B. Magalona, pursuant to SB resolution no. 2020-57 declares the indefinite postponement of fiestas, trainings and seminars, school and sports activities and other similar crowd-drawing activities throughout the Municipality of E.B. Magalona including those celebrated in puroks, sitios, and barangays.

The postponement shall affect activities scheduled March 13 onwards and shall continue until the situation is declared stable and controlled by appropriate government agencies.

Postponement of graduation rites, moving up, and other school related activities shall be governed by the advisories and memorandums issued by the Department of Education.

However, activities falling within the period of postponement that are necessary for the preservation of peace, security, health and measures curtailing COVID-19 threat shall be deemed unaffected, and shall continue as scheduled while observing the necessary health and safety protocol. Any permit issued prior to the issuance of SB Resolution No. 2020-57 which allows public gatherings and any other crowd-drawing activities shall be deemed revoked.

While we may pass with the celebration of these activities, we, from the Municipal Government of E.B. Magalona firmly believe that it is necessary to indefinitely postpone the mentioned activities to eliminate the risk of contracting and spreading of COVID-19. In the end, the health and welfare of every Saraviahanon should always be our primordial concern.
