E.B. Magalona's Jasmine Kate Eleja: The "Baby-Faced" Student Who is Making Waves Nationwide

BABY-FACED. Jasmine Kate Eleja, a 16-year-old student from Barangay Tabigue E. B. Magalona, made a courtesy visit with Mayor Marvin Malacon Thursday [August 3].

Despite her age, Kate still looks like a kid. She stands 3 feet and 3 inches tall only.

Her story went viral on traditional and social media recently for looking like a young child, although she is now an incoming Grade 10 student.

This week, she was featured on “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” a news magazine show of GMA Network.

During her visit, Kate tells Malacon she likes to draw. The mayor then gave her financial assistance for her drawing kits, and encourage her to pursue her passion in drawing.

Kate also wants to become a designer someday.

During her visit, Kate was accompanied by her uncle, Jonathan Joseph, who serves as her guardian while Kate’s mother works as an OFW (overseas Filipino worker) in Singapore.

Joining the mayor was Executive Assistant Debbie Ann Monte.

Joseph shared the findings of their doctor that Kate has growth hormone deficiency (commonly known as dwarfism).

Despite her condition, Kate is a happy and pleasant person. She is a consistent honor student, a scholar, and a president of her class. She loves to dance and spends her spare time doing TikTok videos.*
